This and this. I'm a full supporter that defining political opinions is completely useless and is not helping the current situation in the U.S. If you want some kind of measurable definition of what I believe, I'm smack dab in the middle of everything.
Centrist, mostly, with a couple liberal ideas I can get behind, and a couple right-wing ones.
Rincewind: Ah! We may, in fact, have reached the root of the problem. However it's a silly problem and so I am suddenly going to stop talking to you.

According to the political compass site people have referenced, the graph for the UK parties (circa 2010) is:
And according to the test I am:
Not sure I buy it, since not all western cultures view the political spectrum in the same way, which this test seems to assume, but it’s nice to be apparently closer in mind to Ghandi rather than Hitler. I'd probably consider myself more authoritarian than the test would indicate, in the context of my culture, since in the UK, issues like gay marriage aren’t as divisive as they are in America.
Edit: I actually voted Tory in the EU elections, and will probably do so in the general election as well, interestingly. However, economic policy is near the top of my reasoning, and it’s not so much I think that current Tory policies are great, but that Labour's are complete rubbish and are based on feelings ("it feels good that the rich should have to pay the 50p rate, therefore it must be good for the economy").
