I love her look in the anime, I have not read the manga though.

They basically gave her an anime make-over: Bigger eyes that are slightly more expressive and far more dominant over all and increased bust size significantly. She looks more 'appealing' in the anime to put it simply.

Other than the obvious bust size increase they look nearly identical. I think this is one of the better adaptations I've seen so far. The voice cast is spot-on and the pacing has been real good for the past 3 episodes. Hell they even managed to make Mein even more of an obnoxious Tsundere-loli, which I thought was impossible.

First manga I read in at least 8 years. Love the manga. Happily watching every single episode that comes out.

Bit of a warning, though... this is not a happy anime. At all. If you are a sensitive person and get attached to wonderful and beautiful characters, get out while you still can.

I am preferring her in the anime. She's being present as a significantly more central character, which I applaud.

After Aku no Hana adaptation, no. This looks good in comparison. (even then its not bad)

i'm not a masochist, i just think Esdese is the best girl in the series by far. i do tend to like cynical females though, so i guess thats what i like about her (I also like CC (Code Geass) and Mayumi Saegusa (Mahouka) as well).

I was curious about this for a while actually, Yami, can you confirm that her Japanese name when correctly translated to English should actually be a play on words; Esdese/Esdeath = A S Death? As in 'A Sadistic Death'? As her name should probably be Esdesu which could alternatively be a play on words, meaning her name is literally 'A Sadist I Am' - 'I Am A Sadist' if grammatically switched around too.
