Is there any point to exotic beasts?

Is there any reason to use an exotic beast over a non-exotic one if the choice is up to you? or is it all equal damage?

All of the Damage across all pets is normalized. However, an exotic pet will have the benefits of a non exotic pet with an additional ability. Quilen have the Wolf buff with the added ability to Battle Rez.

So assuming that you don't need your pet to bring any buffs because your raid covers them all, is it just down to aesthetics?

Yes, but an extra brezz from the Quilen/mini-HoT from the Spirit Beast is never a bad thing regardless of what the raid brings.

Spirit beast is great for belts and the occasional "oh shit" heal. Just wish they would increase the range of it a little. Quillen bres is good for 10 mans where a bres may be lacking (assuming you have all the other buffs). Core hound Hero/lust comes in handy in CM's and the like as well

I'm not sure if they ever patched it out or not but you used to be able to brez yourself with the quillen if you were insanely fast. It was hilarious in PvP if you could do it consistently.

I'd also like to see them increase the range on the brez from the quillen - I don't know how many times the person who died was way out in left field, I then have to call my pet to me and run around like an idiot for 15 sec trying to get the damn rez off.

Exotics are better across the board in Warlords. All exotics will have either:

    - 2 special abilities and 1 buff
    - 2 buffs and 1 special ability

    Current list:

Chimaera: 50% movement speed reduction, 5% multistrike, Froststorm Breath
Silithid: 50% movement speed reduction, 10% stamina, 10% spell power
Water Strider: Water walking, 10% spell power, 5% crit
Core Hound: Ancient Hysteria, Molten Hide (thorns), 5% multistrike
Devilsaur: Mortal wounds, 5% crit, Feast (heal/focus regen)
Quilen: Battle rez, 5% crit, Stone Armor (survival cd)
Spirit Beast: Spirit Mend, Spirit Walk, Mastery buff
Rhino: 5% multistrike, 3% versatility, Thick Hide (survival cd)
Shale Spider: 5% stats, 5% crit, Solid Shell (survival cd)
Worm: 5% stats, 3% versatility, Burrow Attack
    Rylak: unknown
