I'm getting a new pc for gaming (since any sort of game brings my ~8yr old dell to its knees) and I'm going to down the self build route.
CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor (£161.94)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler (£24.25)
Motherboard: ASRock Z97 PRO3 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard (£86.59)
Memory: G.Skill NS Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory (£69.87)
Storage: Kingston HyperX 3K 120GB 2.5" Solid State Drive (£59.98)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (£38.70)
Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB Video Card (£99.99)
Case: BitFenix Shinobi ATX Mid Tower Case (£49.99)
Power Supply: Corsair RM 550W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply (£77.41)
Total: £668.72
^That's the build I've settled on so far but I've never really done this stuff before, so I was just wondering if this setup looks good enough to run WoW on very/high settings and other games to a decent level (40+fps, medium settings). Also if you see any possibilities for swapping out parts for better results then that'd be great, bearing in mind I've got a £700 budget.
One last thing - I've already got a 430W Corsair CX PSU, would it possible for me to use this in the build?
In general the build looks ok-ish with some tweaking around. I wouldn't vouch/reckon that ssd and although that RM550 is awesome psu i feel its expensive for your rig and you can get a better gpu.
This is what i would propose even slightly over 700 but the gpu is worth it, its like 3-4times faster than the gtx 750ti:
The Corsair CX430 you got, in general is not a good psu series, besides that is kinda short and very close to the limit to handle the above setup.
Even if those extra pounds are a problem then you can get an R9 270X gpu which is still much much better than the gtx 750ti.
