Just bought this yesterday. Seems interesting so far.
Here's a community driven modpack. It adds alot of blocks, props and beatification. No interactive blocks yet, but that should be possible when programmable blocks are released. Also Skybox if you want a different sky box (i.e. background) in the game.

This new update brings yet another total overhaul of spaceship construction.
After several months of preparations, the tourney has officially been announced!
Holy crap! I didn't think that this was even possible...
Imagine having this at a mobilization area or at a server spawn; your new recruits could be getting the ship they need in mere seconds, without the need of prebuilding them and finding a place to park them all and worry about theft and unnecessary lag, etc etc
Wow! This is incredible!
Space Engineers is a great game. At first it looked like a simple block game (kind of like what Minecraft was in alpha), but I was proven wrong. If you have some imagination, SE has the tools to build all your wicked contraptions and innovations. The survival mode is still somewhat lacking (this is where Minecraft is better), but there's a lot of options for engineering/building/.

Anyway, if you don't already see where I'm going with this, allow me to spell it out: the only meaningful MMORPG "endgame" -- i.e., something novel to do after the progression process is over -- is that of the sandbox.
