Crumbling infrastructure. Gentrification everywhere. Real estate prices have nearly quadrupled since I was a teenager, which is way the fuck out of step with income inflation. Mosquitos everywhere. But it's home.
Damn and people were always saying how wonderful Canada is.
Most boring place in the entire world.
"The sword is mightier than the pen, and considerably easier to kill with."
Nice enough city, but the building works for this totally unnecessary infrastructure project are so annoying. Not to mention that the project is 5 years late and, at this rate, will cost 1.5 billion Euro by the time it is done instead of the 500 million that it was supposed to cost.
It is an inferiority complex. the average city council man cries him or herself to sleep over Copenhagen being bigger. Half the decisions are made trying to be a better Copenhagen despite not being able to be a Copenhagen and the other half falls apart due to a lack of money and then them politicians whine about the government not giving them billions of Euro for their new pet projects
Other than that it is a nice town. I mean if i ignore the horrible inferiority complex. I think we have a football team or two.. and a university (also known as a malevolent tumor swallowing more and more of the town until nothing else is left.) one of the bigger hospitals in the country and a nuthouse, a decently sized cargo/shipping harbor whatever the name is.. what to say? It is Aarhus. Also home of the completely non famous "the Old Town"
It's nice. I'm currently living in the outskirts of Manchester in a rather affluent area bordering on Cheshire. It takes roughly twenty five minutes to reach Manchester city centre by tram and the area I live in is very peaceful and full of interesting and high quality cafes, restaurants, a cinema and Waitrose and M&S are the local supermarkets.
Beautiful landscape imo, good infrastructure, close to bigger towns with connections all over Europe. It's a university city with around 80.000 inhabitants of which 40k or something is students. Free 1 gb/s internet. I love it.
That's why they built the human rights museum here I bet.
Also the Manitoba museum has one of those video player displays about the native americans that has an out of order sign on it, but they actually just put an out of order sign on it because the video it plays when you press the button is racist.
