Recommend me a good entry level road bike.

Yo bros, any cyclists around?

I wanna buy a good entry level road bike to replace running from time to time. Thing is i dont wanna pay too much for it (say around 1k bucks is my budget). Id like to have a good quality best value for money kinda workhorse if you know what i mean.

Id rather lose weight myself than pay 10k. for a bike that weighs maybe 5% less than an entry level bike. (although i realise that component quality also matters).

Broadly speaking, I'm a fanboy for Specialized and Cervelo, but for ~$1K, I'd say to look at a CAAD8. Cannondale makes great aluminum bikes.
