Do you guys remember arriving in an country and standing proud?

I haven't really traveled but I think I would take a minute to salute the country I landed in if I did.

I've been to numerous countries and never felt proud other than the fact I make enough money to travel frequently.

Proud of what? Proud that you don't live there, or proud that you're visiting there?

I don't really understand. I've traveled very extensively, and I've never felt the need to "stand proud and salute XXXX country."
'Twas a cutlass swipe or an ounce of lead
Or a yawing hole in a battered head
And the scuppers clogged with rotting red
And there they lay I damn me eyes
    All lookouts clapped on Paradise
All souls bound just contrarywise, yo ho ho and a bottle of rum!

I was pretty impressed about the amount of titties on daytime TV in Greece, but I hardly felt proud for them.

Proud of what? I'm impressed by actions, not simple existence.
Human progress isn't measured by industry. It's measured by the value you place on a life.

    Just, be kind.

When i traveled it was more like: Fuck its hot here.
When i left it was more like: Yay, back to cold Finland. Fuck this sun-raped hellhole.

As an Icelander, I know this feeling!

    I feel miserable when it's 20C (68F), I feel like I'm dying when it's 30C (86F).

    But I feel great at 10C (50F). If I had to choose between 0C (32F) and 20C (68F), I'd easily choose 0C.

Uh, no, not really. I just think "Yay, finally here!".
And then every time I leave it's "Meh, back to reality...."

I would feel pride in seeing Finland, not for what the people there have built. But what Time has eroded on the landscape. Finland has such great landscape and pure, clean glacial lakes. So much exposed bedrock, in some areas, and less of that shitty dirt, haha.

Having lived in scrub brush desert most of my life. That is most beautiful land in the world after Sequoia National Park in California.

I've never been abroad, unfortunately. I can see myself being ridiculously excited when I finally do though!

Usually whenever I go someplace it's more a thought of "hey, I'm somewhere different this is pretty cool" as opposed to pride - any pride I do feel is of where I come from but well, that's more because of the fact that wherever in the world I go to outside the UK people generally love the Scots!
