Possible new heroes like ragnaros marrowgar?

As in its current situation, it think it has about 27 heroes and it seems too less to be competitive and fun game. Do you guys think it will be possible to get heroes like ragnaros marrowgar and others from wow universe?

By the way it seems like a good game yet knowing blizzard they wont probably add new heroes much. So will skip this one though really good with heroes like tyrael diablo zeratul and such xD

The thing about programming new characters in is theyve essentially got a template now. The art department has most of the work as spell mechanics and such are relatively simple compared to animation. I would bet blizzard adds new heroes at a pretty healthy rate.

Saying this as a programmer, and not a game designer, so grain of salt .

And they only just added Zagara recently. I would be very surprised if we didn't get several more heroes before live launch (which, considering the game is still in Alpha, is probably a long way off).

League of Legends might have over 100 champions now, but remember, they only went live with, if I remember correctly, 40.

Assuming that testing lasts at least another 7 months (about average for a Blizzard beta, I believe- Hearthstone was in Beta for 7 months, and Heroes is still in Alpha), and they develop only one new Hero every 5 weeks, they'll be at 34 Heroes for launch, not far off from League's live number.

It's also worth noting that, according to the Heroes of the Storm Wiki, all sourced back to a Blizzcon art reveal/showcase, the following heroes have models shown but haven't been officially announced:

    Anub'arak
    Azmodan
    The Butcher
    Chen
    Cho'gall
    Jaina
    Kael'thas
    Leoric
    Mekkatorque
    Rexxar
    Sylvanas
    Thrall
    Zul'jin
    Za'Muro

Assuming they all go live, that would put Heroes up to a roster of 41.

There's an older article over at HeroesNexus that found a bunch of files in game for a bunch of various characters. If all of those were implemented before ship, it would put them at just around 50.

Blizzard seems to be adding about 1 hero/month. That's a pretty solid rate, considering any faster means they did little inside testing for balance issues. I'm fine with it. May ramp up in the future, probably will to catch up to the hero amounts in other MOBA's.

A quick search find a Protoss Starcraft hero-

Fenix is a praetor within the military of the Khalai. Bill Roper voices Fenix in both StarCraft and Brood War. A templar and an old friend of Tassadar's, Fenix is a powerful and cunning leader, but remains distrustful towards the motives of the ruling judicator caste.[24] Under the command of Aldaris, Fenix helps defend Aiur from the Zerg invasion, but eventually falls in battle when his position is overwhelmed by Zerg. Due to a malfunctioning of his psi-blades, Fenix falls to a small army of hydralisk at the battle against the Zerg in Antioch. Nevertheless, Fenix is retrieved and integrated into a dragoon, a mechanical fire support unit designed to allow incapacitated warriors to continue military service.[54] Fenix allies his templar forces with Tassadar's upon the schism between Tassadar and the Protoss government, later leading a task force against the Overmind's outer defenses, facilitating Zeratul's assassination of a number of cerebrates and ultimately the death of the Overmind itself.[55] Over this time, Fenix develops a strong friendship with Tassadar's Terran companion Jim Raynor.

In Brood War, Fenix and Raynor remain behind as a rear guard when the Protoss evacuate the now Zerg-overrun Aiur through a warp gate.[56] They hold it until attacked by United Earth Directorate forces pursuing Arcturus Mengsk, upon which they escape through the gate, disabling it as they depart. With Raynor and Mengsk, Fenix enters into an alliance with Sarah Kerrigan against the UED, even leading the Zerg forces on a raiding mission for resources on Moria.[57] However, after the UED is routed from their position on the Dominion capital world of Korhal, Kerrigan turns on her allies. Though unfazed by Kerrigan's betrayal, Fenix is slain when Kerrigan's Zerg launch a surprise attack against his base camp on Korhal.[58] In StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm, Raynor shows that he still harbors a grudge against Kerrigan for Fenix's death after seeing her willingly become infested again.

Fenix would be sick, but I hope he's a Zealot and not a dragoon. Interestingly enough, there are no Starcraft Warriors currently.

Technically it's still the Tech Alpha (ho ho), which is their fancy term for pre-alpha. Quite a way to go still!

How would The Butcher play different from Stitches I wonder... Assuming he would make it in of course.

I would love to see more Diablo characters like Lilith, Deckard Cain, the other Prime Evils (or THE Prime Evil, Tathamet), Anu, Uldyssian, et al from especially The Sin War books.

Freakin' Thrall isn't even in the game yet...I think it's a little early to be asking for characters like Marrowgar...who we never even knew existed until ICC came out. He's basically just a no-lore loot pinata (although a memorable one for sure).

Plus, the two biggest parts of his kit, Bonestorm and Bone Spikes, basically already exist on Sonya and Kerrigan respectively.

I could see Rag becoming playable sometime in the future though. That would be cool.

If Cain ever makes it in he MUST have an ability called "stay a while and listen".

Bonestorm, I can agree on. However, Bone Spikes could fairly easily be used differently as a mass stun or something for a team fight assuming balance could be achieved.

SGT Hammer should physically be much larger than she is, since she's a god damn TANK, but they still managed to have a decent sized model for her. It's not a stretch to have a scaled model of Rag.

I can't see the game going live without other iconic characters like Thrall or some badass characters like Fenix o Ragny

I'm fairly certain Kerrigan's Heroic Ultralisk should be like 8x as big as Sgt. Hammer (Heart of the Swarm trailer) and should be like the size of an entire lane. And Hammer should be like 30x the size of Raynor. I'm pretty sure physical size will be part of the suspension of disbelief (barring the Shield of Auir and Hyperion, etc).

rag is about 100 times the size of a tank. Even in wow he's shrunk from his lore "size"

obvioulsy they can' shrink him to what ever size model, but then he's doesn't "feel" like the firelord, there is a vod floating around the heroes development team talking about it.

Ragnaros could be a specialist hero that sits at your base, towering above everything, and can launch lava waves down the lanes, throw magma traps down and has the option to submerge, disappearing and spawning fire elementals which you can control and direct in his stead.

Channelled ultimate which forces anyone nearby to sit down and immobilises them for 30 seconds while you talk about Horadric cubes and Sin Wars. Even affects allies so it's a double edged sword.
