My gateway show was also Bleach.

First I remember would probably be Pokemon, Dragon Ball or Medabots. Pretty sure Digimon came waaay later then Pokemon so I doubt anyone saw Digimon before Pokemon. Could be wrong though.

I think it was something called Space Firebird. It was early after the revolution in Romania in 1989. Before that we didn't have any cartoons on TV other than some crappy local stuff.

All characters die in the end one by one, and the ending is even stranger. But hey, it's an old Japanese anime that wasn't exactly meant for main stream.

Not sure what type of animation this falls under or if it is considered anime, but it was on Channel 43 WUAB, Cleveland, Ohio when I was 8 yrs old in 1978~ It was on in the early mornings before school & I watched it while getting dressed & eating breakfast.
Its the 1st of its kind that I ever remember seeing as a kid ^__^

It is technically called Battle of the Planets but it was titled as & we knew it as G-Force.
