    Speakers vs Headphones

    Hello everyone,

I was wondering what do you guys use to listen to music, game sounds or whatever while gaming? Also, state what kind of headphones / earbuds / speakers do you use.

So I'm going to start, for me it is headphones Audio-Technica ATH-M50, mostly listening to music while gaming and watching movies.

I use ATH-M50's too for music and movies. For games I alternate between the headphones and 5.1. I have the bass on lowest though and can't turn it up because of neighbors so I go for the headphones a lot nowadays. The headphones sound amazing though with movies and stuff so I don't even need a sound system :P Still using my old X-Fi Platinum sound card.

Headphones for gaming, speakers for music.

People who combine Teamspeak, voice activation and Speakers should burn.

I have quite an elaborate set-up.
For music and any non-gaming activity I use 2 KRK RP6 speakers.
For gaming/music/other-stuff where I don't want people to listen in on it or when I'm on voice chat I use a pair of Sennheiser HD-25 headphones with a Rode NT1-A Microphone for voice.

Yeah, a bit of both. I use a headset more often than not though; Logitech G930 (wireless). It's served me well for like two years now. Your quality of life will improve with a decent wireless headset, I promise you.

Ive always used Headsets. But about a year ago i went over to rather expensive HiFi headphones. AKG K550. Better sound than any of the gaming brand headsets and using a clip on microphone. Speakers for me died when i started playing counter strike 1.3

No option for both? Shame on you, OP!

TS3/Vent via headset, music/Youtube/Twitch etc through speakers.

Speakers for playing alone, as soon as a voice program goes on the headset goes in and the speakers unplugged. Just some shitty cheap headset, pretty poor quality but the speakers are good so I use them whenever possible.

Probably about 70-30 headphones to speakers when it comes to listening to music or whatnot. Got a pair of Logitech g430s that I really enjoy using.

definitely headphones. I listen to some pretty sappy 80's music and don't really want the house to know i'm listening to Bonnie Tyler --total eclipse of the heart.
