    Custom Laptop

Ok, I'm looking to build a custom laptop (or get one built by someone). The one I currently have works fine, but it runs slow at times and occasionally freezes for a few seconds. I can't complain too much about it however, since it was free. Budget is around $800-900 and no more than $1000. I'd like good performance on med-high settings for games such as WoW, Wildstar, etc. I may also do some 3D modeling via Autodesk or Solidworks, so it will need to be able to handle that. Screen size no larger than 17". Country is US and I have most peripherals that I should need.

Why do you need a laptop?

Well, now that I think about it, I don't really need a laptop. I was thinking that I would completely replace the one I have, and use the new one entirely for classes this upcoming year as well as gaming. If someone could put together a parts list for a pc with about the same settings that would be great, though I would need a monitor and keyboard.

I imagine even with the monitor and key board in the budget, a desktop PC would be better for gaming. Also, it'll be fun to build!

Can you answer a few questions for me?

Would you like to overclock your computer?

What kind of storage do you need?

    What games do you play?

Do you need an operating system (You can get one pretty cheap with student discount!)?

What kind of keyboard do you want? (I recommend a mechanical keyboard, but they don't come cheap.)?

What size PC would you like (ITX, mATX, ATX)?

What size monitor would you like?

Answer these and we'll move on from there!

    How's that look?

If you're doing 3d modeling or something, it's going to be a little slower, but this is probably the best price/performance combination for gaming. If you want to prioritize 3D modeling and whatnot a bit more, then you can reduce the GPU (none of the games you play are super GPU intensive except maybe Wildstar?) and spend some more to get an i5.
