You don't need a more powerful PSU, you just need a replacement.

CPU's degrade over time, usually as a result of overclocking but it can happen even without OC, try raising the voltage to your CPU ever so slightly.

My old Q9450 needed increasingly higher voltages to stay stable at 3,2Ghz towards the last 2 years out of the ~6 years I had it, until finally it just wasn't stable over 3,0Ghz no matter what voltage I used.

I will try this before buying a new PSU, thanks for the option!

Changing voltage is doable in the BIOS, right?
Ow, and any indication of how much the voltage has to be upped?

Yes you'll have to enter the BIOS to do it. Usually you enter the voltage in predefined steps like +0,025 or so. I don't know the stock voltage of a 2500K but your BIOS will show that value somewhere. Try raising it 1 or 2 steps at a time and then see if it's stable, if not, raise it a little more. Small steps ^^
Don't go above ~1,4V with that CPU though.

    Okay, so, another update

I had access to a cheap 750W PSU, so decided to install that one.
Never did it before, but it seems to work, so far no crashes, been about 1.5 hour.

    So I'm still hoping!

    Edit:
Still no crashes, new PSU seems to have fixed it.
