    Sell Warrior to me

Good evening! after a long day at work and mulling over where I am in the game character wise, I've decided that the most fun I've had while leveling a character is tanking dungeons on a warrior, this was many years ago and I've since forgotten how to play so to speak.

I'm thinking about making a new warrior and picking up Protection with a DPS offspec to main in Walords of Draenor.

Could you sum up the warrior class in one paragraph, essentially selling me the class.

    Thanks!

Well with the current iterations on beta you might get a couple people wanting to sell Warrior to you (aka: their warrior character), cus they'll be quitting the game over warriors being mutilated beyond recognition. Yes- Pun Intended.
The rest of us will stoicly suffer because of our unbreakable resolve to play warriors.

I'll keep on droning my Mantra: Keep Calm and Warrior on.

Mind iterating on how Prot is being changed in WoD? Considering re-rolling it from my Blood DK but I haven't play Prot on a high enough level to tell how the changes are going to pan out.

Dunno if you can really sell a warrior anymore. It has become that class you play because you want to play it so if you need someone to convince you to play it then it is not the class for you.

I imagine though if they scale as well as they typically do for the end of an expansion in WoD then warriors will be in an ok place that the end of WoD but its always a bit sketchy starting out cause there is just not a lot of stats to go around

I absolutely loved my old warrior, I leveled her as Protection from level 10, tanking dungeons, I did every quest I could find, I capped at level 70 and ran tbc dungeons for reputations, I did the same at 80, then I made the mistake of switching to fury in Cataclysm to dps in a guild which fell apart, which is when I rolled a hunter.

I kinda want that fun again to find a guild and maybe tank in WoD.

    Ahhh Warrior. The best class.

Tanking is fun and active. Charge just "feels" amazing to use, so much more than roll on a Monk, for example. When I play my Prot Paladin the biggest thing I miss is Charge.
A lot of people love Fury at the moment, but I've always been an Arms Warrior at heart, and even though with decent gear it sucks compared to Fury, I still like playing it. It's seen better days, but as far as I can tell Arms is shaping up to look pretty damn interesting in WoD.

Warriors have tools to react to every situation. We have buttons that just feel amazing when you press them - Mortal Strike, Slam, Charge, Heroic Leap, Bladestorm... all very fun. There's no other melee class with such a MEATY feel to each attack. (Fury unfortunately loses some if it's MEATY feel for me, which is largely why I don't play it... Wild Strike and Raging Blow both look and sound terrible).

You have no empty GCDs, and excellent mobility so you can always be in range of something to hit. It truly is a wonderful class, even after the countless revisions. Even at it's low points, it's still really fun.

I'm not a warrior, but in the PvP guild I joined we hit the horde PvP vendors all the time.

    1. drop in
    2. Bladestorm
    3. ???
    4. Profit

    So there is also that.

Warriors are probably the most fun to level. With heirloom gear and prot spec and victory rush, you can take any mob thrown at you. Highest dps while tanking easily.

They shine until to hit max level. Then you realize they are uber gear dependent. With low gear, warriors are not so much fun. Can't solo elites like other classes and can't always solo older content.

I love my warrior, but his squishiness (due to gear) frustrates me.

I disagree. Arms is really powerful compared to other specs in the game as a fresh 90. Seasoned Soldier along with Blood and Thunder/Sweeping Strikes Slam/Bloodbath makes the spec a DPS machine even with no gear. Just like Frost DK's, Arms Warriors scale the most with the weapon because of Seasoned Soldier passive and high weapon % damage attacks. You could literally have terrible quest gear and a 522 honor weapon and still do respectable damage as an Arms Warrior. Crit doesn't really matter for Arms until you have a good weapon and enough strength.

You don't know what gear dependency feels like until you've played a Rogue, Combat in particular. I also disagree with the assertion that Warriors are squishy with low gear and can't solo elites. You literally can't die if you use your numerous amounts of defensive options while fighting very aggressively. Warriors aren't as powerful as say a DK or Paladin, but its much better than playing something like a Rogue.

Speak for yourself. I LOVE my level 100 warrior tank on beta, and Gladiator Stance is badass.

Fury is still very much a WIP for now, so I'm not jumping on the QQ bandwagon yet. Blizzard does this every single expansion, they iterate and try class changes which are controversial and sometimes hated. Some will stick, some will be changed and some will be outright reverted. All 3 have proven true in WoD's beta already.
Appreciate your time with friends and family while they're here. Don't wait until they're gone to tell them what they mean to you.

Think you've already sold yourself on the idea.

    -"Sell me on warrior"

-"Should I play warrior or paladin?"

Warrior is not a choice, either it's what you are and what you play or it's not. There is no selling it.

To you I suggest play something else and to the guys deciding between paladin and warrior in the other thread I suggest go bubblehs and have fun at your sewing circle.

Warrior big and strong, not use steroids, totally buff for legit reasons! *unintelligible grunts* Big weapons, plate armor, and OP in pvp (until nerfed into the ground... every expansion).

If you don't have a passion for warrior you will be crushed shorty by how they get you into a good spot and then gut you like a fish

If you like speedy runs, tank is the only one who can do it most efficiently.
You can troll to a certain degree safely, especially in LFR since people tend to not insta kick a tank due to the time needed to find one, for example I tend to pull LFR bosses even if people are dead from trash, but that might be because I'm an asshole.
I played all the tanks across all the expansions, my top reason for a warrior is his mobility, the second reason would be, that the skills feel like they flow naturally, but that might be just from all the time I spent playing warrior over the 10years of WoW.
    PM me weird stuff :3

Arms warrior rule in mop. Charge in and unload a few very hard hitting abilities just like a warrior should. Stack some mastery and see those big yellow numbers fly. No pussy kiting or pillar humping.

It just has it's own flavor, it's own style. It's extremely fun and satisfying to play, but not always (Cata). When they're in a good spot, not OP and not underpowered, they're amazing. Playing one well before was very gratifying. People would compliment me all the time back when warriors had a high skill cap. I'm hoping it goes back to more of that in WoD and we get some of that flavor back without the hassle of constantly having to stance dance for stupid shit like hamstring.
