The Legendary Dragons and Egyptian God cards are exceptions to this as they were the story plots to entire seasons. And lets face it, Obelisk and Slifer's real world cards are both as strong or stronger than what they were in the anime. Ra was butchered for his release XD
Erm the entire game played differently than it did in the first season, with card having different effects as well - making the first season complete bunk here (and all toon cards AND relinquished especially). off the top of my head (as well as your examples) we had unique cards in the cyber wars, diffusion wave motion in the movie?

While we're on slifer, as far as I'm aware in the series not only did he have his hand based scaling that remained intact - he also took 2000 atk/def off EVERYTHING that your opponent summoned, rather than just face up atk specials (which can be played around very easily.

Lastly chaos emperor dragon is valid, but isn't it also banned in nearly every format anyway? You wouldn't even be allowed to play that at my local card store.

Diffusion Wave Motion was never played in the Movie, and it was actually only in the English version of the movie as it was only seen in Yugi's Hand. In the Japanese version of the movie, Double Spell was in Yugi's Hand rather than DWM. Also, in every instance Yugi did use it, it was used the same as the real effect, just appeared different as we declare each individual attack where as in the show, each attack happened at once.

Slifer the Sky Dragon in the show had a few weaknesses that he doesn't have in his real life part. For instance, his anime effect allowed for his 2nd attack to be redirected. Where as you cannot actually do that vs the legal Slifer. Also, his real effect isn't just for Special Summons, It's for every summon excluding Flip Summon, and he couldn't hit flip summons in the anime either. Lastly the 2nd mouth effect took 2000 stats off whatever position the monster was summoned in in the anime. However, you cannot Normal Summon a monster in face up defense in the real card game, so that point isn't valid except in cases of Special Summons. And in some cases, that's good as most walls for Slifer would get destroyed by this effect rather than just weakened. In the anime Slifer was also classed as a Dragon-Type. He doesn't have that weakness in the real game.

Chaos Emperor Dragon was actually banned after Seto used it in the anime as well as being banned in the actual game before that. However, Chaos Emperor Dragon is more than fine to actually come off that banlist as his effect is horrible compared to what we have now. The only reason it remains banned is because it was the first card to go onto that ban list and it created a lock that many old players know as the "Yata-Lock".

only if it's an anime. and by anime, i mean ANIME. the VAs have to have big hams, there need to be REACTION SHOTS, and Seto needs to be a dick for no reason whatsoever
If you are particularly bold, you could use a Shiny Ditto. Do keep in mind though, this will infuriate your opponents due to Ditto's beauty. Please do not use Shiny Ditto. You have been warned.

I'd pay money for it to be made just so I can know that it exists.

I don't think you quite understand, the backstory of Hearthstone is World of Warcraft. If they made an anime of it literally all it would be is you watching the same table or two in a tavern whilst random dudes played cards.

There is no travelling around the world having tournament duels from a portable card machine thing that creates cool holographic creatures from your cards. This is just some dudes with a pint battling with primitive versions of cards.
Your persistence of vision does not come without great sacrifice. Let go of the tangible mass of your mind, it is only an illusion. There is no escape.. For the soul burns on everlasting encapsulated within infinite time. A thousand year journey at the blink of an eye... Humanity is dust..

I don't think YOU understand how that can be the basis for a story, given HOW I'VE EXPLAINED there are anime which use pretty much the same basis with people playing in a card shop, and being successful enough (generally rare in anime) to go into... 4 seasons now back to back?

You wouldn't personally watch it? Fine. Doesn't mean the idea hasn't been successfully used before, recently.

The whole point of a story is generally based around character or characters. The fact it has warcraft to pull so much from just makes it easier to bring in recognizable characters and get inspiration. The world doesn't have to be at stake, but there can be things of some importance to the characters going on. It could be slice of life, drama, magical, have love interests, all sorts of things going on based on the characters who play this game - hearthstone.

Basic story for an animated series could be Durak the son of Thrall as the main protagonist. This would take place 16 to 20 years into the future and he could be on a journey of adventure along with his best who is the son of Garrosh (What Thrall and Garrosh could have been). They get invited to a tournament on a distant Titan controlled planet by a mysterious host. We're then met with familiar faces meaning sons and daughters of prominent lore figures who also got invited and an Avatar of the Adventurer (Because the player characters are awesome)

Losers of duels to henchmen of the tournament host get their souls ripped out and placed into an object for soul jailing. End plot could be that the host is an Old God follower and he wants to resurrect an Old God(s) that has had it's physical body(ies) destroyed many years ago (Hinting that the Old God problem is no longer Azeroth's problem).

So he amassed a tournament using a hook of games, adventure, and prize money which would cater to young and naive teens and adults.

    Sound good or no?

Actually the heart of the cards was more like cheating. So it shows how much of a poor sport he was.
