Back in Dota 1 me and my friend played Lich + Lina mid-lane alot. It was quite a good combo. I guess if we would do that in a pub game the game would start and end in flaming...

Spiritbreaker and Huskar, cant beat it

Abbadon and axe vs melee carry, they cant farm without you spinning all over their face and they cant fight you without commiting more heroes - other lanes won.

Bristleback - lich offlane. The lane is kept back and it has lots of harass and killing power. Semi early frost armor for the bristle and he is really hard to kill.

I've been experimenting with auramax venge and weaver because of geminate attack with pretty good success.

Usually I like the offlane solo tho.

Not the best early game combo. But did a few Necro+huskar ranked games yesterday. Between the spears and the disgusting necro aura not many lanes can get close to last hit.
At lvl 6 its 100% kill every time you decide to use your ultis on a target.
Lots of flaming, lots of crying and of course the call for nerfs.
Only drawback is probably that the necro ends up with all the kills but being able to get even the tankiest hero down instantly is well worth it.

I love playing mah supports with instant CC (Lion, Rhasta, CM) with Rikimaru, i just can't explain it but it's so satisfying to help Riki player to snowball up to 22/3/10 stats. Thanks to his blink he can follow up in almost any situation, thanks to smoke he can make sure that enemy with escape skills won't go away as soon as stun expires, thanks to invisibility enemy can't go all balls on me except they know fo sure that he is not near me

One a more serious note, yeah i tend to agree that instant cc gives you fuzzy feelings when you release your created monster after the laning phase is over.

Slardar and Centaur actually makes me cry if I have to vs them in a lane.

Venge/Undying has worked really well for us in the past, aswell as Lion/PA or CM/PA

I'm not sure how viable it is as a lane combo, but my friend and I love to play Centaur Warrunner and Tiny (he plays the Centaur, me on Tiny); Toss + Hoof Stomp + Stampede is a pretty great combination.

Tiny and anyone with a stun would work great because you can just toss them on top of your opponent, stun, and boom they're probably gonna get killed

Naga and VS is a surprisingly strong dual lane. There's so much minus-armour early in the lane that very, very few heroes can actually trade hits with you.

This is true, but Centaur Warrunner is especially fun because he's got the damage burst with Double Edge and he can Stampede, which gets Tiny there faster as well.
