My latency is through the roof.

Ever since 3 weeks ago, my latency has been going through the roof. I used to have a steady 70 latency, but now it's a constant 200 to 400. Is it possible to play WoW through one of those VPNs or whatever they're called and get better latency? If so, any recommendations.

It's pretty annoying at this point. I'm all out of ideas how to fix it.

Is your server one of the ones being merged OP?

Personally my latency is the same as it's always been.

As far as I know, no. When I returned it was already merged with a server. I'm on Llane.

I did a Traceroute to my battlegroup and this is what happened

The only time I had severe latency issues... I called my ISP... i'm not very tech savy... they informed me I had incredible speed coming through my lines but my modem, router, and cables were ancient in comparison... basically choking it up.. if someone in the house used netflix or roku... i could not play wow what so ever due to 300-3000 ping depending on the night

went and bought a few cat5e cables (over a year ago when they were new tech) along with new modem and router... now i can run lag free in almost any game, movie downloads went from an hour to under 3 minutes.. i dunno just check to make sure your hardware isn't crap

Do the Ethernet cables even matter? I assumed they were like the HDMI cables, it doesn't matter which ones you get they're all the same.
