Lords of War - Animated Miniseries

So Im kinda hyped to see the rest of them. Sheds some light on the origins of the different tribes and how they came to be. I didnt know Korgath was a slave and fought for his freedom only to get shit on and out of desperation and frustration maimed himself to have a weapon. The art style is amazing and the story is interesting for people that dont know about the different warlords. Im waiting on the Gul'Dan one.The warlord hype is real, so what do you guys and gals think of the Lords of War?
Chaos! Madness! Like a hug for your brain!¯\(°_o)/¯

    I loved it.

Being someone who is not entirely familiar with the more detailed aspects of Warcraft lore, this is all pretty much a brand new experience for me.

For example, I had no idea where "The Shattered Hand" came from. I'm familiar with the server, but that's about it. When watching the Lords of War and they showed the story of how 'The Shattered Hand' came to be, my reaction was pretty much "".

Definitely looking forward to the rest. I feel like someone who has just discovered Star Wars for the first time. There's so much more to this game now that I never knew about, it'll be nice to be following the story with interest for once.

i am a little bit confused:
in the serie, kargath is kind of a gladiator: killing his own race to survive and entertaining the ogre audience. after a while, he frees himself and kinda motivates the other enslaved orcs to follow his insurrection. later in the arena, the orcs kill the ogres and form a new orc clan "the shattered hand" afterwards.
Now, there must be a certain form of hate against the ogres since the orcs dont like to be some kind of slaves. So why is kargath a raid boss in the raid instance highmaul? Therefore he must be kind of an ally of the ogres!?

I think it's pretty neat as well. As someone who's familiar with the old pre-MMO Warcraft lore, it retcons a lot of information from Beyond the Dark Portal (Kargath used to be a pirate, for instance, and the Shattered Hand had ties with the Black Tooth Grin), but it's still cool to see nonetheless.

I liked that episode more than anything I've experienced in game in the last 3 years. I'm looking forward more to the rest of the series than the expansion.

They heavily retconned exactly what happened and essentially just copied from American cinema versions of ancient Rome, but I'm rather fond of the result.

I hope the others are retconned as well if they're going to make them so interesting.
Soothing Mist:"Healing them for a minor amount every 0.5 sec, until you take any other action."
Jade Serpent Statue: "The statue will also begin casting Soothing Mist on your target. healing for 50% as much as yours. "
    [What's half of minor?]
"Statue casts Soothing Mist at a nearby ally for toddler healing."

The art looks great but that kind of slideshow style is really annoying. I can't get into it.

I didn't like the art style, it seems like they're copying Kill Bill's intro sequence in every mini series they're doing now, Diablo, Warcraft, soon to be Starcraft too probably.

The story was garbage, it's just Zul'Jin story, which can be seen in the (much better) Zul'Aman trailer:

I LOVED it and can't wait to see the rest, but I'm a bit worried about what the conclusion will be like. The video starts with that draenei bloke telling Varian he doesn't need to fear the warlords, that they can be defeated... and then proceeds to explain why they're so incredibly awesome? I doubt Varian is finding his councel very reasurring so far!

What are you 12? Read a book. He's teaching Varian about the warlords' personalities. For example Bladefist cut his own hand and his followers are loyal to a fault to him for breaking them out. That's extreme. Varian can know that in a battle, he'll never be able to make the Shattered Hand orcs turn against their leader like other orcs might do against others, and he knows that Bladefist is not afraid, and an extremely skilled combatant.

That's understanding the psychology of your enemy. You know that if you go to war against USA you're gonna have a tough time on your hands since everyone there owns at least 10 guns and a tank and everyone's over the top patriotic when you threaten them.

It didn't, I just like to be aggressive sometimes. It feels good, and it feels like it gets my point across better. I know it does, since everyone's so wimpy these days, when they meet someone who calls them out for being so "sloooooooooow dooooooooown" they're like "whoa why is he treating me this way what a jerk", but deep down it gets to them. It always gets to them, eventually.

Woo hoo 700 posts look at me everybody I have a lot of posts so my credibility must be high right?

Agree with you. I loved the art style as well. The whole aura and tone of the piece was very striking as well. Definitely excited to see the rest.

One thing that confused me: Is there a reason the Arena/Gladiatoral games in the video seemed to be run by ogres instead of goblins?

    Easy: Goblins aren't Draenor natives...
