In case someone didn't notice, since june you pay full VAT in UK for digital goods.

I do believe that the change takes place next year in January and closes the loophole which allows companies to charge VAT at the rate where they are based rather than the country where transaction takes place. However since Blizzard are based in Ireland, UK (ATVI) and France the countries where their bill could originate from all have a VAT rate of 20% thus this change would make no difference.

Simple. It's an imported product. Right now, the Pound Sterling buys less dollars than it did 10 years ago compared to the Euro. Blizzard is making less dollars per UK consumer compared to Eurozone consumers. The price hike was long overdue.

Vote with your wallet. Just don't buy WoD and quit the game. After Blizzard gets the message, they will suddenly appear and say, "Oh dear it appears we have made a horrible mistake in accounting and have reverted the pricing in the UK. The person responsible will be sacked."
