    The Iron invasion

I was looking through the feats of strength listed on wowhead and came across the feat called The Iron Invasion (I can't link since i'm a new member). Obviously this in relation to the pre-expansion event, but I noticed under criteria it has both the alliance and horde quest versions listed. Does this mean I will need to level an alliance toon to 90 before the event if I want the feat?

I doubt that's the case to complete both. I'm pretty sure if you complete the story line on your Horde character you'll get the FoS, but if you feel that won't be the case, level up an Alliance character. It shouldn't take too long if you have heirlooms, and complete the odd dailies along the way.
Isn't it ironic how education is important, yet people forget all about it when they visit the internet?

I'm guessing you're right. Is the fact that it lists both as a criteria just a way to make sure everyone gets it? Like it requires either the horde one or alliance one? And not both? Can anyone confirm for sure?

Go check criteria for http://www.wowhead.com/achievement=7932. You don't have to kill all NPC listed there.

Nope, just opposite faction (3 out of 6). And it's directly related because it's also listed criteria for both factions.

Nope, you linked to "Im in your base, killing your dudes" which has criteria:

Kill all three of the opposing faction's champions in Krasarang Wilds.
    Criteria:
    Champion of Arms slain
    Champion of the Light slain
    Champion of the Shadows slain

    3/3 Must kill _all_

And its not related to WoD at all.

Most likely. It'd seem odd to have to complete what are likely the same objectives in a differing faction quest chain just to get the FoS. It's best to just wait and see, and if it's not the case, then you'll have a month to level up an Alliance character.

Obviously you don't have to do it on both factions, lol. You just need to complete one of the two quests.

There are many achievements that have a lot of criteria listed, but you don't have to complete ALL of them. This is highly likely one of them.

My God, what a horrible creation. People seeing what they want? Thank God they tried to shy away from that. I know it pisses me off when I'm in an heroic raid, yet in the back of my head all I can think is 'some casual player is playing a heroic dungeon and not wiping.' -Vodkarn

The point is, there are actually 2 of each champion type. 1 of each for horde and 1 of each for alliance, 6 NPCs. You only need to kill either the Horde ones or the Alliance ones to get achievement credit.

This (and other) achievements set the precedent that you do not have to play both factions to get the achievement.

I can't confirm for sure, but what you're saying is extremely likely.
