Monk and Barbarian questions

Hey folks, with the new patch dropping today, I'm getting back into D3 for a bit. I have a hunter with abou 200 hours on it, a Crusader with about the same. Wanting to roll fresh again so thinking between a Barb and Monk. I tried a WD and Wiz, but I just don't like casters in ARPG's to be honest. I'm really leaning towards a monk unless the Barbs are just a lot better this patch. I haven't rolled a barb yet because I played a Barb in D2 almost exclusively.

I know it might be too early to tell, but how are each of those classes sitting atm? Just asking because I really dont' want to play a class that isn't doing well atm.

From what i've heard barbs really only have 1-2 viable builds still. I would choose monk, a lot more versatility.
