An orc in the Alliance and a human in the Horde?

I just thought of an idea that maybe it could be possible that an orc prisoner befriends an alliance racial leader (kind of like Valeera) and is accepted into the Alliance or that a human is working for the Horde and eventually becomes a member or something. I just think it would be an interesting concept. Also, I'm not implying this be a more common thing or a thing that playable characters can do. Just an interesting story idea?

Too much Alliance racism against the "blackbloods" and "mongrel barbarians." They'd never accept a Horde race, unless it was a sexy elf.

Quite the opposite. The Alliance of WoW is fairly friendly towards other races and is open to diplomacy. Even Varian 180'd after Garrosh came in. Hell, there's been Darkspear in Stormwind Bay that weren't even attacked and allowed to stay docked. That was during Cataclysm, mind you.
Soothing Mist:"Healing them for a minor amount every 0.5 sec, until you take any other action."
Jade Serpent Statue: "The statue will also begin casting Soothing Mist on your target. healing for 50% as much as yours. "
    [What's half of minor?]
"Statue casts Soothing Mist at a nearby ally for toddler healing."

    Yes, it was.

Pre Garrosh, there was "tentative" peace between the Horde and Alliance. Sure, there were skirmishes and such, but trading was done, diplomancy happened, and numerous members of both fostered inter-factional relationships.

Then Garrosh happened, and shit went to the crapper afterwards. Stupid bigoted oaf.

It started when human alliance soldiers killed Mankrik's wife.

Garrosh was still being his bigoted self during Wrath.

I quite like the idea of having humans and orcs that are essentially open faction, it would be an interesting twist to have the alliance and the horde be open to ideals rather than race.

Same goes for the racist Hordes. Unless they get to kill it, they will never accept any alliance race on their junkyard of a faction. Even if that race is not even part of the alliance, just being of the same race is enough for those racists.

Yeah. Was a shame it was only a joke really, I would have loved to see that.

There are horrible racists on both sides.
"In life, I was raised to hate the undead. Trained to destroy them. When I became Forsaken, I hated myself most of all. But now I see it is the Alliance that fosters this malice. The human kingdoms shun their former brothers and sisters because we remind them what's lurking beneath the facade of flesh. It's time to end their cycle of hatred. The Alliance deserves to fall." - Lilian Voss

Most of the Alliance populace sees the Horde as monsters and would rather have that Orc executed and burned. Same with Horde, most of the Horde citizens hate the Alliance. They dont have knowledge of the information we do so there a little biased.

Apart from the human warlocks that reside in org? Well until garrosh killed them in SoO but that's garrosh

Anyway alliance racism really kicked off in warcraft 3 against the bloodelves

From what I can see, only ones having greater luck cross faction are like, Tauren with the Night Elves and Human travelers, Goblins (business is business after all), Blood Elves are able to if situations are fixed.

From the Alliance side, well, Gnomes proved they could work together with Goblins when needed. Night Elves with the Tauren mostly. Humans has been seen fighting long side orcs.

But I don't think a faction in whole would welcome the races of another faction as they are many races for and against.

Such a thing wouldn't surprise me at this point. Blizzard is pushing so hard for Alliance/Horde faction neutrality in WoD, that they're essentially the same faction in all but name already.

There are plenty of neutral humans and Orcs. Really it's only for gameplay reasons that there appear to be none.

Valeera Sanguinar is a Blood Elf. She has saved Varian on multiple occasions. She has even been in game a few times. She helped The Alliance take back Undercity during Wrath. She is loyal to Wrynn.

Mankrik's Wife was not killed by the Human Alliance soldiers, but by the Quillboar that infested the area. The quest clearly mentioned this as well.

We battled in a small tauren camp when we were separated--she held three of the Bristlebacks off by herself. But the odds began to overwhelm us. I led some away only to see her overwhelmed by newcomers. In my rage, I turned to face my enemies, but they brought me down easily with their vast numbers.

I awoke to a tauren druid tending my wounds--he had come across me on the Gold Road as I fell.

Please, <class>, find some sign of my wife.

I don't think it's so much an intentional push for positive relations between the factions so much as laziness in designing less quests and hubs by doubling up as much as possible. They've been doing it since bc.

There was something like that in the RPG (a human mercenary who worked for the Horde and a tauren warrior who defected to the Alliance), but it was never followed up on.

It could happen I suppose, but it would need to be like Varian and Valeera: fire-forged friends.
