(shrug) average maintenance cost on a gas car is around 9k a year. You can lease a Fiat 500e for $179/month.
It is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion. It is by the beans of Java that thoughts acquire speed, the hands acquire shakes, the shakes become a warning.

Technology becomes cheaper with time. It's impractical cost wise to be widely used just yet, but Tesla released their patent just so that electric viability would spread. Supercharging stations won't be Tesla only either because of this. Their mission isn't just to make money, it's to enact a greater good. It's how a business should operate, with both money and ethics in mind.

Don't worry though, I'm pretty sure if Republicans get their way in November, you won't have to worry about that, as even fewer Americans will be able to afford even a used car.

Sounds like something the Democrats would be all for. Going green, more people biking and using mass transit!

"In today’s America, conservatives who actually want to conserve are as rare as liberals who actually want to liberate. The once-significant language of an earlier era has had the meaning sucked right out of it, the better to serve as camouflage for a kleptocratic feeding frenzy in which both establishment parties participate with equal abandon" (Taking a break from the criminal, incompetent liars at the NSA, to bring you the above political observation, from The Archdruid Report.)

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that you don't know what a communist or socialist state is. As of right now, there are no actual communist states in the world. There are only 11 socialist states. 7 of them are not attempting to become communist. Of the four that are Marxist–Leninist, China is the only one of significance.
