Also it says I got rejected despite 18/24 = 75%, which goes against the first sentence; "Migrants to Britain hoping to gain citizenship must get 75 per cent or more on the Life in the UK test"

The danish version is much harder also.
The Danish one is just different. It focuses more on current/recent events than "real" history. That said, the Danish one is a complete joke too. It's just filled with questions that are supposed to trick immigrants("Which of these rights is in the constitution?" and then it lists the right to have an abortion as one of them, which is clearly supposed to trick people into picking that because "Denmark is so progressive and it's different to what it's like where I'm from, OF COURSE they'd have that in their constitution").
Source: I took the real Danish one in June. It wasn't very hard, at least not for somebody who has lived most of their life in Denmark. I guess it might be a bit harder for immigrants from outside of Europe, but the material we were given to prepare was easily enough to pass the test.

21/24 as an American with limited knowledge of the U.K. Pretty surprising that actual Brits fail this.

Jane Austin is a pretty big name to be totally oblivious to.
    Never heard of her.

That movie is VERY loosely based on a novel by Jane Austen.
