I find that the touchscreen is useless to me since the trackpad has smart gestures and I can zoom in on my e-book files with pinch zoom on that. I don't have to touch the screen. I also find the the battery is a bit lacking. The screen also looks like crap from even the slightest angle.
I really like the size, weight, and slimness of it. If I could change something about it, I wish I could trade the touch screen for a better looking display and maybe pay a bit more for a better battery.
I am thinking about returning it and maybe putting some of that extra money that I paid for the touchscreen into something else. If any of you have been laptop shopping recently could you maybe make some recommendations?
Maybe $500 was a really good deal for the one I got and I should just keep it considering it is $650 now? Boy that ASUS Zenbook looks nice..... but $1700+ is just.....
TLDR: I need a laptop for school. Things that are important are:
-Size - I'm thinking 13-16 inches. Lightest and slimmest possible.
-Battery Life
-Display quality / Resolution - IPS would be awesome. I'm thinking if 15+ inches it should be HD res. Just not a horrible display because I will be reading on it for many hours at a time. I don't want to waste money on touch screen.
-Budget could be a wide range but obviously less is better. I am a financially struggling student but willing to invest in this. Maybe $300-900
