I can't speak for all places, but i can speak for McDonald's over here. They DON'T slather them in dressing. It comes in a little pouch on the side, and they even have a low fat one we can get.

The salads at McD's are good. I can go int and get a big mac with fries and it's like 30 Weight Watchers points. Or I can get a salad with balsamic dressing and grilled chicken and it's 7. HUGE difference. Granted if I got the crispy chicken, and drowned it in ranch it's like almost triple...the point is that shit is up to the consumer.
