I haven't read the books since high school, I honestly can't recall why she's dying all of the sudden. Can you elucidate me?

It has something to do with Sauron ie evil growing stronger makes the elves weaker, if you can picture evil as a force like gravity aswell as a moral stance. darkness>light etc. but it could just be that they are planning for the worst, that is failure of the ring being destroyed. although she gives up her immortality to be with Aragorn so she 'IS' dying (as opposed to being semi-immortal) by staying there when all the other elves leave for the undying lands.

I haven't read the books since high school, I honestly can't recall why she's dying all of the sudden. Can you elucidate me?

Short version of it: She's not dying in the books. It's just a plot device used in the movies that is left unexplained but various fan-made explanations exist.

Most revolve around the fact that she wouldn't be able to escape Middle-Earth to the Undying lands with her Elven brethren and thus, in case Sauron won, she would die.

I was mostly referring to her being Half-Elven, having the ability to choose if she wants to be immortal (as an Elf) or accept the gift of Iluvatar and die like Men do.

- Genetics (sorry bud, can't fix this)
- Testosterone deficiency/lower levels of it (though this kinda goes hand-in-hand with genetics)
- Being too overweight (losing weight can make your penis "bigger")
- Age (if you didn't fully go through puberty, give it a few more years!)
