New SSD, question about how to "do" it.

Hi guys, I just bought myself a new SSD ( 120gb hyperX 555mb/s - 510mb/s ) and I was wondering what I have to do to install it.
I really want to keep most of the stuff I have on my old HDD, is there a way I can do that while installing windows on the SSD ?
Or do I have to format the HDD for the SSD to be available to run windows ? Thanks in advance!

I suggest plugging the SSD into the primary SATA port on the motherboard. You just put in your windows disc/usb and install windows on the SSD and set it as your boot drive. From there you should just research up a guide for commands and options to optimize your SSD for the highest performance.

In BIOS, set HDD mode to AHCI instead of IDE.
