    [feral] energy bar: smart colour

Is there an addon that dynamically changes the colour of the energy bar depending on the amount of energy you currently have?

    red bar if 100 > 50 energy
    yellow bar if 50 > 25 energy
    white bar if 25 > 0 energy

I tried this with WA but it doesn't work correctly. The color changes at around 60-80 energy to red, but I need it to do so at exactly 50 energy.

Would be awesome if any of you know of such an addon!

    Hi mate,

I use an addon called energy watch reborn, its on curse. It doesn't have colour coding but it has an easy to adjust text function that sits in the middle of your bar that's fully adjustable and easy to read. I find this much better as some addons can be a bit laggy in terms of updating the colour once it reaches the set threshold. Once you get used to it its better i think as it allows you to plan ahead as you know exactly how much energy you have.

Here's a screen shot of my UI if u want to see how it looks. My UI is a little scrappy atm with the ability cull but you'll get the jist!!!!

You can do it with WA, either via custom code (hint current energy = UnitPower("player",3)) or via making a bunch of different bars, and you only display the right coloured one for the current energy range.

It's probably not as easy as an exact addon doing what you want, but I limit myself to just wa/skada/bigwigs/raven, so the answer to everything custom is a weakaura

You can do it with WA in a much easier, simpler way (probably the first thing rijn dael is referring to) I can link mine and/or explain how to do it when I'm at home (at work for a few more hours).

If you're interested, please PM and nag me if I haven't posted; I don't get on the forums often and will probably forget.

Assuming that works, go to animations, and you'll see it has a custom function for color. That's really all it takes. Currently, its pretty messy and has a series of explicit values for amounts of energy between 24 and 45, but it would be much better (and I'll probably change it to this and repost soon) if color was written as a function of energy values instead. I did that at first but was too lazy to get the function perfect and just went with specifying values.
