(Ret) question reguarding ES

ok ive been playing pally fora while now and with the recent snap shotting things being gone was told by another ret to just cast execution sentence on cooldown instead of what i had been doing previously which is wait ~10 to ~30 seconds for AW and a trinket proc to become active.

the way he was explaining to me was that if you get 4 execution sentences off in a fight (some buffed other not) that is still more damage total than just doing 3 ES's but having them fully buffed properly.

sorry if this is worded wierd but if you have any questions for me i plan on being present here and learning ret to the fullest a bit better in the future!

It is now generally best to use your big abilities when you can. If, for example, you know that waiting 2-3 seconds will allow the end of your ES to explode with your AW, I would wait. I wouldn't wait for AW or other trinket procs to start your ES necessarily, its really, really weak. Wait for the big explosion.
