    I think I need Ritalin/Adderal. Am I tricking myself?

Back in highschool I never, ever studied for a test. I just didn't feel the need to. I picked up on those subjects fairly easily. However, I've been in College for a couple of years now, and I am struggling with mathematics in particular. Mostly this is because, like in high school, my other subjects I understand with very little difficulty. However, mathematics actually takes work, and I can't seem to focus on studying for it. Even now, with an exam approaching in just over an hour and my notes open, I'm typing this post on here.

I've been thinking of seeing a psychiatrist or something to see what they think, but I'm concerned that I may just be tricking myself into thinking I need it. Maybe one of you has personal experience with this sort of situation? ADHD is supposed to effect you your entire life, but its hard for me to understand if it really has been.

It's probably more that high school didn't prepare you with proper study habits.

Has it occurred to you that maybe math is just not one of your strong subjects? I'm not a doctor by any means but I'm fairly certain that if you really did need ADHD medication, you'd be struggling with much more than studying for math tests.

How many kids with ADHD does it take to change a lightbulb?

    Lets go ride our bikes.

See a doctor if you are seriously concerned. Otherwise stop being a lazy procrastinating tallywacker.

I experience some of the other symptoms, but these are symptoms every one experiences to some extent, so I have no idea if mine are "serious" or "normal'. I think if I actually needed to study for my other subjects, it might be a problem as well. I think I have the ability to understand math, I just don't study like I should for it. Thats sort of where the problem is stemming from. It doesn't help that after high school I waited 4 years before I went to college, so my mathematic skills were certainly rusty. But its been a few semesters of math since then, and I still don't feel much better about it.

Ruken I think you have a good point, maybe my study habits are lacking. Again, its hard to say since I can't determine what are normal study habits and what arent compared to what I do.

Try Desoxyn, it's very good. Ritalin is not bad but I prefer Desoxyn, go see a doctor.

See a specialist - don't come to MMOC for it. Unfortunately a gaming forum is not the place to seek medical attention, psychological or physiological.
