A question about prot warrior heirlooms

Hello, I've been searching for a good while about this but can't seem to find any information regarding.
So please forgive me if im posting something already discussed.

Im a prot warrior and I just killed Garrosh on heroic to get my heirloom weapon, I got the 1h sword and im super happy with it.
But since im prot specced I do need a shield as well. So my question is, if I kill Garrosh on normal/mythic for another 100% heirloom
will I be getting the shield or could i possibly end up with 2 swords?

Your first guaranteed heirloom will always be a weapon, and never a shield or off-hand. In your case, you will get the one-hand strength weapon again.

Well thanks for clearing that up for me. Quite pissed off about it tho. IMO if I already got the better quality sword as a prot warrior, that lower quality 100% heirloom should be shield only.

I can confirm the above. Still, I am ready to level warrior as SMF and worry about a shield at 100. Still got a few weeks left to get a shot at the shield

Loom drops don't check for what you do/don't need at all.

All that's set is that the first drop on any difficulty will be something your current spec can use.
