Sure, it's a great game. Has a healthy playerbase, one of the most active MMOS on the market. They favor smaller more frequent updates over expacs (so far) which keeps players interested. Really fun combat. It's the only game offering realm vs realm wars on this scale atm. No sub fee and you can buy cash shop items and character services with gold, no p2w. Save room on your harddrive for all the screenshots you will take, the game is gorgeous.

If you're looking for a game focused around raiding and gear progression, look elsewhere.

If you want something different from that, consider GW 2. IMO there's plenty for you to do for the box price, especially half off. There's a cash shop, but it's mostly convenience items. The only things you might feel you need are more character slots(you get 5 and there are 8 classes)or more account bank space(which can be overcome by making your own guild and leveling it up to having a bank).

I wouldn't completely rule out raiding. Not with all this raiding stuff going on.

I have signed up and am prepared to be lost for a while. Will be interesting to balance this with WoD in a couple of weeks. Too much to do is better than nothing at all. Game is downloading as I write this.
