So it has been confirmed by the Constantin films that a TV adaptation of Mortal Instruments and that it would be a "reboot" and that fans don't have to see the movie to follow the events of the TV series. Also it was mentioned that they will attempt to adapt the entirety of books, something they couldn't do in a movie length.
