Ok so mother in law got new laptop running windows 8.

Its not taking the network security key, but when I disabled that in the router settings it connected fine, but they obviously want to set a wireless password.

Any idea on why it would not be excepting the key? need windows update? incompatible router or settings?

any help appreciated.

Wow... I changed it from WPA2-PSK [AES] to WPA-PSK [TKIP] and it worked instantly any idea why it was not working with WPA2?

Update the driver for the wireless adapter.
