Just saw the trailer here at Blizzcon. Searched for the former WC film megathread, but it appears to have been deleted. Anyways, what did you all think?

I'm not lying - it was shown at the Atmos Theater on the third floor. Showed Durotan and Mother voice over, Dark Portal, a few battle scenes and some highly dubious Kaldoeri CGI. Rewind to the WC film segment where Duncan allowed everyone to go upstairs and see it.

You didn't actually see the trailer there were no Kaldoerei in it don't lie. Red shirt guy has the info. And he said nothing about a portal aswell.

Okay, stuff:

-Dalaran is indeed floating
-Alliance is the actual Alliance. Ironforge was shown briefly along with Dalaran, with shots of dwarf and high elf forces. I think it might be snippets a montage of Stormwind recruiting the dwarves and elves for the war or something.
-Durotan, Draka and the other good orcs have brown skin. The bad ones have green. No idea how this will effect Thrall since Draka is heavily pregnant with him during the movie.
-Lothar has a son, or maybe had a son. From the dialogue it sounds like his son died and Lothar wasn't there because he was busy serving in the Stormwind army and feels guilty about it.
-They showed the scene Chris Metzen talked about during the film panel, with Durotan and Draka. The CGI for Durotan is incredible. Rise of the Planet of the Apes level if not greater.

Look at the last few expansions: Do you really WANT them to try and make it contiguous? Better to let good writers handle it so as to not fuck it up.

its kinda what i always figured the movie would do, be an "alliance good, horde bad" story. because its a movie for making money not wow fans.

Though, it's not doing the "Here's the good guys, here's the bad" story. They're just
twisting a lot of lore. Some of it really hard.

Dalaran floating, good orcs brown.... wha?

Do they forget the actual development of their own story? Dalaran didn't float until after it was destroyed, all Orcs were green except the children sent to Garadar(which apparently doesn't exist anymore)

Actually they started to turn green after they dabbled in Fel magic. So no, they weren't all green naturally, especially Durotan and Draka. They both slowly turned green from the enviorment. So it's very much accurate. They will probably turn by the end.

It sounds more like they're making the movie based on the game aspects rather than the lore of the game. Wouldn't be surprised if didn't see nods to the game more like some dude in the streets yelling "WTB wool" and stuff like that.

And the not fucked up clan/good clan is the Frostwolf clan, very much like it was stated so that is accurate aswell. Every other Clan went to war and screwed things up, but Durotan and his clan didn't in the end. Getting them killed.
