    Monk Community IRC

Hey guys and gals of the Monk forums!

So I mentioned in a thread that I wanted to make some new things for the community so we could foster... well... the community, so I talked with the other mods about an MMOC IRC channel for the monk forums. Turns out there's already a pretty thriving channel already! Come join us if you have questions or even just want to talk about random stuff.

    IRC channel info:

    irc.coldfront.net port 6667 or 8080
    Channel: #PeakOfSerenity

You will need an IRC client for it. Here's some examples for Windows.

Have a good one guys, and happy expansion! Just a couple days off!

    IRC channel Rules:

    1. Follow Wheaton's Law.

    2. Respect the chat. This channel was created first for Monk theorycrafting, second for Monk Q&A. Don't disrespect people by talking over them. It's fine to chat about other things (90% of it is generally Q&A or just general), but be respectful.

    3. Please tag and all NSFW images. If you don't, I will be very sad.

    4. While the channel has a few moderators, it's mostly self-moderated. I don't expect we'll have too many issues, but as it gains popularity (which, it will when War-lards hits), I'll probably appoint a few moderators. These will be chosen from people who stick around, are active, and that I trust aren't jerks.

It's amazing that IRC is still so user-unfriendly. It's been around for decades now. You'd think someone would make a client that's easier for the lay-person to use.

For everyone that wants to get started with IRC and maybe even join in the Monk IRC, here's a good primer on all things IRC: http://www.irchelp.org/

IRC isn't that bad. Syntax for most commands is pretty simple after poking the nickserv bot.

But that all said, #peakofserenity is a nice place to hang out. More so after rerolling to a MW monk main.

The new server doesn't have a Nickserv? O_o

    It uses authserv.

EDIT: Seems Coldfront fixed their issue, so home we are.

Yup, still active. Infact, people are currently chatting as I type this! It's generally slow on the weekends, but during the week it's active.
