Even though its my dominant hand, I use that finger the least for gaming.

Ring finger right hand and I'm right handed. I could use my mouse with my ring finger and I don't see any drawbacks when writing either without a ring finger. My left hand is a big no no for keyboard usage as well.

I don't know how long I could last if I was missing any one of my fingers, so I'd probably go with the one that grows back the fastest.
Either that or my left ring finger.

Just for fun, let's say you've angered the wrong type of people and now they want to cut off one of your fingers. But the thing is, these guys are a little sadistic so now they're letting you choose which one you want to be cut off.

Depends on which is your dominant hand, left pinky is kinda useful for gaming with a keyboard.

Index: Almost as important as thump
Middle: Universal greeting finger
Little: Perfect size for picking nose and scratching inside the ear, and used to support glasses/bottles when you hold it.

Ring finger is the logical choise....

I think the ring finger on the dominant hand (right for me) would be the wisest choice.

For typing on the keyboard I need all left fingers (no, not only for gaming, as a programmer I need it for a living). I hardly use the ring finger on my right hand for my "self taught 10(9?) finger system" to type something, and I do not need it to hold the mouse. Additionally I could still hold a pen without any problem, and I don't think there is something you could not get used to.

Do you not use your 4th finger of you right hand for your mouse? 2nd finger of LMB, middle on wheel/middle button, 4th on your RMB?

I don't use my middle finger for the mousewheel, I use my index finger. Always have.
