    Leve Question

New to the game, started playing the demo on Friday and bought in on Sunday. I'm enjoying the game quite a bit, but I have a question on Leves. It seems that these are limited in quantity, and you only get 3 a day? Does this increase as I level, or is there a way to increase the number of Leves available? I found these to make Gathering much more enjoyable, and they also help when I am working on other classes.

I ran through all of my Leves on Saturday, then saw that there was a timer (which I am OK with), but I thought that it was for all of them. On Sunday, I was more than a little bummed that I only had 3 of them available. I'm currently saving them up for this coming Saturday, but it would be nice if there was a way to make them more readily available.

You get 6 leves per day, they are limited because they give extremely good EXP for every class and also reward quite a bit of gil and the crafter ones give a lot of crystals.

I use my 100 (still have like 35 left) of em to level the WHM so I can finally get Stoneskin. >.>
2-5 minutes at level 30 for 11k exp is nice.

When leveling a new class (i.e. you don't have story quests anymore), they're useful for those really good leves in certain level ranges. Some of them used to be even more ridiculously fast, such as the ones where you escort a NPC with /beckon, but they made those much more difficult to complete. They're extremely good for leveling a crafting or gathering profession.

Go ahead and use them when you want for now. You'll accumulate enough of them before you know it when you want to level another class.

Yeah, I've been saving most of them, and doing one or two when I need a quick boost. I've got my first class, Conjurer, up to L20, but I've also been getting a number of other classes (Archer, Lancer, Arcanist, Thaumaturge, Botanist(L17), Carpenter, Leatherworker) up to L10 or so, just to see which class(es) I enjoy the most.

The Leves reminded me of the old Newspaper missions from City of Heroes. I'd be happy with Leves if they cut the XP in half (or by 75% even) and dropped the bonus rewards after you hit the limit, simply because I find it more fun to have a number of objectives rather than simply grinding on enemies.

I used mine to level my crafting and gathering classes. You can go from 10-50 on a crafting class in ~1 day with ~60 leves if you turn in HQ materials. Fishing is the same and Botany and Mining make it easy with 6 gathering attempts per node you are able to get more xp per nodde and nothing takes up inventory space.

Now that all of those are 50, I can used them for leveling alt battle classes. The quickest and easiest xp are the escort missions, take maybe 2-4 minutes tops.

So, I've got almost two weeks into the game and I've got a much better understanding of all the various mechanics (though I'm sure there are still more I have yet to run into). Leves are still cool, especially for gathering, but not as big of a factor as I thought they were, since there are plenty of Dungeons and Guildhests, the Challenge Log, and Fates everywhere. I was able to get White Mage unlocked, and still have a bunch of L15+ quests out there for when I'm working on another Class (probably Scholar since I'm half way there on Arcanist anyways).

On a side note, I've found healing to be somewhat entertaining. I've never really played a healer before (though I did play a tiny bit of Goblin Shaman in the early days of WAR) and I chose Conjurer because "Conjury calls upon the elements of earth, wind, and water and concentrates them to a potency at which spells can be weaved." and that's about as far as I read. Me in game, "I'm an Elementalist, baby! I'm throwin' rocks! I got a wind DoT! A water knockback! I got a heal and a shield to keep me alive, I'm cool with that. A group heal? Resurrect? Awe, man...I'm a healer." Then I started running randoms, and they were popping up real quick (around a minute or less), and I started getting player commendations, and I was having fun doing it. Dunno if I could do it in a raid or anything, but playing a Healer is more interesting than I had expected it.

Thing I like about healing is snap decision making and management.
What interested me the most though was SCH with a healing pet. Reminded me a bit of when I was playing Mystic with the (useless) wolf pet in EQ2, except the fairy isn't useless, albeit sometimes retarded. Admittedly playing with a controller probably isn't the most optimal set up for when I need to micro manage the pet, but it works.
I've played all roles in these kinds of games and grown to like healing most of the time. Of course there's exceptions like Reaper in Tera was great fun, but that has a different combat system all together.
