    Temperature issue

    I just built this

Been coming here a lot for assistance, I know, but I can't find better help online than here. My issue is unclear. I'm seeing my temps for my CPU hitting 70. This is a screenshot of all my main part temperatures with guild wars 2 running.

I see mixed answers on this. Some places say 70 is okay. Some say it's too high. I never see a performance problem with that intel processor being that hot. Is it too hot?

    70 is definitely too hot

you have a cooling issue. could be the thermal paste, could be the airflow in your case. if your room temp is around 78f then at 50% load your temps should be at least 10c lower.

if you are savvy, open your case and manage your cables and ensure you have good air intake/out. take your heatsink off and reapply thermal properly. also, ensure that when you put your heatsink back on that it is tight. don't strip your screws, but the stronger the heatsink presses against the cpu the better. also ensure that your heatsink is applying pressure properly across the cpu by tightening your screws criss cross.

Don't go crazy on the thermal paste, either. Too much will not transfer the heat away from the CPU properly.

I would say it runs hot but not too hot, i would consider that at 85+. But don't expect awesome temps from the stock cooler especially if the ambient is high already.

    What's your case's fan setup?
