Most guys can't pull off a beard effectively. They'll kick and scream about how 'awesome' they look but in reality they're usually just obscuring their facial features and pretending as if that suddenly makes them 'rugged'. A guy with naturally strong facial features can pull off a beard much more effectively, though stubble tends to compliment them far better since it allows them to show off their good looks instead of hiding them.
