    android or ipad?

edit: the 3rd and 4th options assume you are paying the internet promotion for at least 30 months and in Exchange you recive the respective tablet

after years of stubborness on desktop PCs, because of some bad experiences i had with laptops, i have decided to take a tablet with a 4G connection.
i'm a complete noob about anything about apple and android and am very insecure wich option would better fit my desires.
i'll now put a poll with the 4 options i have, but feel free to comment if you want to add anything.

the only reasons, a.t.m., i want a tablet are:
    - play "good" video games anywhere (i'd really like to be able to play Hearthstone while on a bus, even if it requires waiting for it to come out on android)
    - browse the internet anywhere to have access to its unlimited and partially reliable data
    - take notes, many notes. even photos i can edit on the spot to fit any request i may have
    - be cool (lol)

note: sadly i lost half the page with some data of the ipads, but here's anyway a list escalating in price of what's included in the promotion (1 choice, i'd rather a pad than a phone)

    Alcatel Onetouch pop 7
    Huawei mediapad 10 link+
    Samsung galaxy tab 4 8.0
    Acer iconia W4-821
    Samsung galaxy tab 4 10.1
    Sony xperia tablet Z2
    Samsung galaxy note pro 12.2
Ipad mini.. with display... (cut information in here. what's left is "retina display 7.9'' " and "Chip A7 with processor...")
Ipad air 16/32GB, retina display 9.7'' and chip A7 with M7 movement processor

if anyone who wants to answer needs more info feel free to ask here or pm me

Whether to get an android device or an Apple device depends mostly on which ecosystem you want to be a part of. Apple will generally have more expensive devices, possible slightly fewer total apps, but the apps they do have will be well QC'd to ensure you're not downloading bullshit. Android will give you a bit more flexibility, though for many people, it's unneeded flexibility.

I'd recommend a smaller tablet, in the 7-8 inch range. I used to love my Google Nexus 7. It was the perfect size to do everything I wanted to do with it. When I switched to the iPad Mini w/ Retina, while I liked being back in the Apple ecosystem where all my music and apps already are, it was sufficiently bigger and heavier to make it more difficult to hold it comfortably while reading at night. A 10 inch tablet would just be overkill for most applications.

I have an android phone (Nexus 5) and an ipad - if I were going to upgrade my tablet I'd go Android next time.

I recommend Android over Apple. I also recommend no contracts, on anything, where reasonable.

Nonsense. It's an easy elegant interface, at least for any touchscreen larger than 6 inches.

Heartstone is not yet available on android..it will be next month though. I personally will never buy Apple (even though it is a good quality product) because you are paying twice as much for something you can also have on android.

I'm happy with my Kindle Fire. It's a decent enough tablet, very cheap for the specs, and I generally prefer Amazon's ecosystem.

    Android.

    - Easy to develop for, if you ever want to do that yourself.

    - iPhone was only "cool" when no one had it, now everyone and their dog does. You no longer stand out, so sad, bad dad.

    - No need to support a company that shits on developers' heads (http://mashable.com/2014/10/29/pcalc-widget-ban/) and then, when the Internet rages, goes "oh oops lol haha we didn't mean it that way lulz" and lets them back in. Any other developer without the following of James Thomson would have been screwed, their cries for help unheard. But with that guy they shat their pants and let him back in. Too bad that other launcher apps that have the same concept are still screwed, because they can't make the Internet rage like James does. 500px was great until it was effectively killed (deleted and let only for mature audience because you could turn off the filter and type in "porn" http://mashable.com/2013/01/23/500px-removed-app-store/).

As a developer myself, any company that treats them like that is highly antipathetic to me. Might as well play roulette instead of sinking 2 months into developing something for Apple.

Oh and did you know? Apple "geniuses" are instructed to not use the word "crash" in relation to Macs. Macs don't crash. They just "stop responding". There are no "bugs". There are only "conditions", "issues", and "situations".

Better get an Android that costs you less in the long run, does the same, and just happens to be compatible with everything too, including those nice cheap chargers.

If you're on Android, just install an alternative keyboard and ramp up the size. I personally use Hacker's keyboard on both my devices.

With a 10" tablet and the keyboard set for 50-60% of the screen, you might be able to touch type if you can get over the lack of tactile feedback.

Get a Surface tablet. It will run anything that can run on your PC and you dont have lo learn another operating system or deal with Apple.

thanks for all the answers. I've Always been an android type with the dark side of "apple makes you look like god", but i must say all the reasons i see to own a tablet perfectly fit in an android.

OT: i completely agree on our finger size compared to the active area of the screen. i guess one of my new goals could be making it less tedious to interact with a touch screen using a bare hand XD
