Increase a Bodyguard Followers Ilvl = more health / hit harder as a minion?

So I plan to start increasing my Follower's Ilvl and was curious if the Followers who can be a Bodyguard with the level 2 Barracks will get a combat increase when we have them out with us in Draenor? Like will they hit harder and gain more health?

they do =) my lvl 655 follower is alot higher hp
