I like how the game seems to have a bit of a 'dark' turn. People being hung by vines, *spoiler* the sun aspect master woman being impaled (I honestly didn't see that coming) and now sylvari being brutally experimented on.

to make a spoiler use the spoiler tag like this [ spoiler][ /spoiler]
In most cases, I understand the other side's viewpoint and how they came to it, but cannot tolerate their stubbornness to not see mine (the right one).

I'm sure someone can and will rip the trailer apart for every little detail, but otherwise it's not a very coherent thing...

  7. #7
We knew that Asura experimented on Sylvari when Sylvari first came to Tyria.

Looks like we'll play as Caithe and 'go back' in time and play her past. The cave part and the symbols on the doors could be the cave where the Sylvari seed? Maybe som Ventari etc?

There is a lot of talk about it and a wooden potatoes video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j9rH1e8RcWQ

I had totally forgotten what the asura did to the sylvari when they first saw them

Well, that story was a lot of fun. I didn't realize that you'd get the leg from finishing the story and have no choice but to grind out bandit crests to buy the boots, though. Had to go back and look at them and for cloth I'm not even sure it's worth my time.

Is there no other way to get the boots? Will we at least get the chest from the next story?

I have a bad feeling those dam boots are going to cost me 3k bandit crests. Luckily it seems that well get to have the complete set in 2 weeks so I'll get my "free" ascended armor chest to complete the ascended collection to complete the exotic collection to get the karmic converter thingy. YAY Collections!

    Matchmaking and Leaderboards

    • Matchmaking will take into account other parameters in addition to matchmaking rating (MMR), such as largest group size and team composition.
    • Leaderboards will no longer use MMR as a basis. Instead, players will earn ladder points based on the quality of the matches they participate in.

    Match Accept
    • Ranked Arena and Unranked Arena matches will now prompt players to accept the match before it can start.
    • The client will flash and play an alert sound when matches are ready.

Fencers is gonna HATE this patch. Apart from the story i cant imagine her liking this thing.

  13. #13
    well Fencers hates everything..except POE

well hate is a strong word, dislike is more like it

Interesting story bits, and I was okay with the departure to using Caithe's abilities since some of them were refreshing variations. The stealth-game stuff was bullshit, but at least they gave you the option to just fight and bull your way through. Boss fights weren't too bad this time around, my biggest complaint was having to see it all in that horribad washed-out color filter to make it more 'dreamy' *blech* and feeling more like it was a teaser than actually revealing anything worthwhile. Though I was left thinking just one word: Forgotten.

  15. #15
anyone else get the feeling that this Living Story is leading up to an expansion? It just feels like it to me (or maybe it is just me hoping so)

  16. #16
Not right now it doesn't. We see another Elder Dragon pop up before this season ends, I might think it's the case.

Someone on reddit mentioned that you can get around the glow by disabling something in the graphic options (I think it was post processing, not sure, can't find the post anymore).

well, compared with the first season this season feels a bit short, but it also has more permanent content and deeper zones than we had in season 1. The storytelling has improved considerably imho, but the new season lacks the variety of season 1 (no world boss rework like Tequatl, no new dungeon, no new world boss like Marionette). I really appreciate the story though, I know that a lot of you don't care about it but it's just REALLY satisfying for me being able to play as Caith and relive her past. Having said this it makes me curious what they will add in the few episodes we have got left in S2.

Imho the storytelling is leagues better than it was ever before, played GW1 not too long ago and I enjoy GW2 much more.

It could be a bit more though, so I would very much love to see a new expansion soon. I just can't imagine where a new expansion might lead us, with the current story-development in mind. No idea. Crystal dessert, Elona or Cantha makes not much sense to me now. Further into the west perhaps?!

hmm another one? This makes no sense to me. It looks quite straight-forward to me: Mordremoth all the way.

Well they did say that expansion is in works in not too distant future... So I hope so But I'm trying not to expect anything

I really am enjoying the new LS story's even if they might be a bit short but they are really well made. I LOVE the new maps they looks simply amazing. Never been much of a desert map fan - But these are stunning.

Since I do enjoy the story and I am interested in the lore generally - Playing Caithes past get big thumbs up from me. I even like the gloomy filter thing. Haven't finished the whole story yet tho. '

Pretty interesting that they put in that Rox is giving greatsword lessons to Jory in the dialogue... dum dum dumm.

    Side note
Things that I remember positively in LS1 could be summed up to Southshun cove, The molten instance, Marionette event - The whole LA destruction story from beginning to start. Upgraded Tequatl. Ow and the new JP's we got ofc ^^

I really like the story, but... what's with all this grind again for the luminescent armor? x_X
    Seriously Anet, stop it.

All the way right into the jaws of a second dragon. Kralkatorrik would seem likely to me, though Primordus would be good, too.

People complained about a lack of 'I EEEEEEEEEAAAAAARRRRRRNNNNEEEEEEED THIS' rewards in PvE. ANet responded happily. Just like they did for custom delivery birds in the Gem Store...
