ATM, I'm only 98, but I am enjoying prot, so much so that I expect to raid with this character.
However, I have a conundrum. I have searched for an "optimal" build for ports, but each one I find is always different. Because of the variety of good setups, I have decided to ask other prots for what works for them.
Currently I'm running DT/ER/HR/SW/SG and BB, so feel free to critique that as you will too.
And, when I reach 100, should I spec Rav, or pick up GR just for the DS buff? Thanks!
IMO a few of the talents are preference but I can tell you what i pick, considering I've mained a prot warrior for years.
I love Double Time for the movement it gives.
Enraged Regen is a better CD if you take into account the 20 rage cost of Victory Rush along with a GCD usage.
Level 45 is so minimal it's Preference I prefer Heavy Repercussions It's less I have to keep track of.
Ultimately I always take Shockwave it allows for positioning mobs and a stun utility when enemies are stunned they can't attack.
Vigilance in this tier is useful for the no CD on taunt but I can see safeguard being a choice.
Bloodbath is higher dps, and avatar is a root/snare break.
The kicker is level 100 talents, single target IMO Glad Resolve is better for a pure 5% DMG reduction, but if you have adds involved Ravager takes effect with an increased parry chance means less dmg the more mobs you are tanking.
I tend to switch based on what the group needs and whether it's HC or CM (normals are a joke) but basically, if it's a high melee dungeon I'll go with Ravager/Shockwave/Blood Bath because you can stun packs of 3+ every 20 seconds and Ravager's additional parry is a fantastic bonus to the pretty hefty damage it does.
For dungeons that have more casters I'll go with Gladiator Stance for the additional 5% damage loss, possibly Shockwave but more than likely Droar if we need to kill shit fast and since you can still Sbar whilst Bladestorming I can pool rage before using it to keep myself somewhat not dead.
