Exotic Ammunition question

Hi everyone. I'm a survival hunter that doesn't want to play MM, so I figured I'd run survival because BM feels kinda clunky. I was just wondering why more people don't use exotic ammunition on trash mobs? I have been testing it out and im at 25k+ damage every at 5+ mobs. It seems to do more damage than lone wolf, the former does however pull ahead on single target, but I believe in CM's the AoE is far more relevant than the single target? If anyone could answer my question, would really appreciate it.

Of course EM is better than LW at multi-target because LW doesn't increase damage of Serpent Sting or Multi-shot.
