    GPU comparison

    Hey folks,

    Long-time reader, new poster.

I have an i5 3570k and an AMD Radeon HD 5770, and I was thinking of upgrading to a ASUS GTX760-DC2OC-2GD5 GeForce GTX760 2GB GDDR5 256-bit or an MSI r9270.

Will this be a decent improvement on frame rates and so on?
    Do you have another recommendation?

    Thanks!

Edit: My Radeon 5770 was purchased over three years ago and is 1 GB.
Edit: Also, I want to keep it under $250

The 760 & 270 are pretty even cards, just comes down to personal preference or which ever is cheaper. That said, if your 5770 is a 2GB version then it may not be much of an upgrade at all, because that card can beat out these two cards in some areas - in which case you may want to look at the next card up.

    Lolwhat?

GTX 760 and 270X are pretty much neck and neck, yes, but an old 5770 isn't anywhere close.
760/270X are both ~3-5 times more powerful in any given application compared to a 5770, it's not even a contest.

Sorry I was looking at the X2 version, I guess that's different then a standard 2gb.

But in like floating point and what not, is what I was mainly referring too.

Don't get a 270X... Get the 270 it's the same thing but $25 cheaper. just download MSI Afterburner and slide the sliders to the max and you have a 270X for 270 prices.

if u dont have problems right now wait for gtx 960, it may be on your price range and will beat the crap of 760/270 and 280. in case you cant wait buy a 280 if u dont play only/mostly wow. if u only play wow, buy a 760. nvidia offers way better performance in wow than even much more powerful amd cards because wow is optimized for nvidia cards and historically wow have a lot of problems with amd/ati cards.

i asume for your comment u never set a foot on highmaul, with a 560 u will be lucky if in twin ogrons your fps dont drop to 10 o 15 just when u need them more, or playing in a full head to head ashran so go with your 100+ fps elsewhere.
