US no longer the worlds' largest economy

    http://www.marketwatch.com/story/its...dist=countdown

After 200 years of American dominance, China has officially overtaken the role as the largest economy in the world. What are your thoughts?

Now just a few decades and China will fall. This is all very predictable.

You're not a smart person and you would see this world polluted to shit.

I hope people who share similar sentiments like you crawl into a hole and perish.

Clean renewable energy with less focus on personal demand and unnecessary bullshit is the way to go.

Imagine we poured the money from sports into personal energy generation for. That's around $100 billion in the US alone.

Sometimes I think we are a very stupid group of people.

Also cut the defense budget in half and invest it. We could have been the top economy for years to come.

Your economy has a massive basis in defence spending though, you just can't cut it in blocks like that.

It'll take years, if not decades, to wean the US off the military-industrial complex teat.

On the other hand I can't thing of many large US cities where there are days when people have to wear masks in order to avoid choking on the air.... also our waterways are more or less decent. Given China's reliance on fish for food and the horrible conditions of their waterways it is unlikely that they will be able to stave off hunger. Also should be noted that this is based off PPP and China controls their currency with an iron fist, in terms of nominal GDP we are up by about 6-7 trillion.

Yeah it's so much better to live in cities where you never even see the sky, and where people don't give a shit about anything and just throw whatever garbage they have on the street.

I had such an awesome time in Wuhan.

    Oh, hi.

"Largest economy" means nothing. Let's compare US and China GDP per capita - China is barely above the African level.

Yeah sure if you want to claim RPP over Exchange rate, other way around the US is still about 70% larger.
