Through a fair and then we started talking a lot and eventually met. All he did was initiate and ask for my forum name on another site and started talking to me.

We met at a big 40th birthday "event" for a friend-of-a-friend-of-a-friend. A buddy of mine was doing a performance there, and I was meeting up with him and another friend. That other friend invited some of her friends that I didn't know, including my now-spouse. We met, hung out, became friends, started dating like a year later, and about five years after that, married.

The full story is kinda absurd. The details are the kind of thing I can't tell in polite company -- very few of my friends and none of my family know -- but makes for a good story when I do share. Let's just say it was a very unique party and, uh, not what I expected at the time.
