came across this movie a while back and for some reason it struck a nerve.
Nothing really happens in the movie, all dialog

An impromptu goodbye party for Professor John Oldman becomes a mysterious interrogation after the retiring scholar reveals to his colleagues he never ages and has walked the earth for 14,000 years.

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0756683/?ref_=nv_sr_1

Looking for a recomendation on movies like this if you could.

    P.S sry for typos,

First film that came to mind was the Steve Buscemi masterpeice Interview

"After falling out with his editor, a fading political journalist is forced to interview America's most popular soap actress."

It's pretty much just Steve Buscemi and Sienna Millar on screen 90% of the time, but the strength of both performances (yes, even Millar.) carry the film to unexpected levels.

Great film, I was hooked throughout the film, which was surprising because of how little actually goes on besides the speaking.

    Untouchables.

After he becomes a quadriplegic from a paragliding accident, an aristocrat hires a young man from the projects to be his caretaker.

It's in French and therefore has subtitles, I would recommend watching it. I can't put it into words how good of a film it is, read some reviews on the link, or imo, just go and watch it.

came ot his thread to link "The man from earth"
guess i was too late :P
    d

never met anyone IRL who has ever even heard of the movie, but the internet seems to love it. its hard to describe the film to anyone and make it sound interesting, because it is 100% just a bunch of people talking in a living room, apart from the 5mins of footage outside his house

Amazing movie. Absolutely fantastic! Always the first title that comes to mind.

Intouchables is indeed a masterpiece and by far the best non-English movie I've ever seen as well as in my top 10 all around.

    Really recommend it.

I randomly picked this up from the $5 bin at Wal Mart and thought it was an awesome movie. It's very dark and depressing, and it's not exactly a happy feel good movie about rainbows and sunshine, but...well, considering the subject matter, you can't really expect it to be. I got my $5 out of it.

It's not like the OP's movie at all, but it's the only "random" movie I've watched recently that comes to mind.

Was gonna recommend The man from earth as well when I read the title.

I guess End of Watch ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1855199/?ref_=nv_sr_1 ) isn't that popular but was a really good movie, mostly because of the chemistry between gyllenhael and his partner.

Quentin Tarantino's favorite film "If there’s any movie that’s been made since I’ve been making movies that I wish I had made, it’s that one." It's the story that Hunger games rips ideas off. It's Japanese and its fantastic.

Another great Buscemi film is Trees Lounge
